Create Smarter Shaftwall Systems. Steeler Shaftwall Studs (also known as C-H Studs) can be easily combined with J Track to craft economical yet tough shaftwall systems. With a fire rating of up to 2 hours, Steeler C-H Studs are UL certified for Fire Resistance Rating, meaning peace-of-mind for designers and elevated safety for occupants. Steeler Shaftwall Studs are offered in the following gauges: 25, 30ES, 22, 20DW (030 mils), 20 (033 mils), and 18.

Our C-H Studs meets or exceed all applicable UL/USG system design and Fire Resistance ratings and are therefore acceptable for use with listed wallboard gypsum products bearing the UL classification marking. Steeler Shaftwall Studs meet or exceed ASTM A370, A1003, C754, C645 (non-structural), C955 (structural), C1513, E90, and E119.

  • No knockouts means stronger Shaftwall systems: Steeler C-H studs do not require knockout tabs to hold the shaft liner in place, meaning uncompromised strength where you need it most.
  • Save money in the long-term: We use a full zinc coating to greatly minimize rust formation, meaning your walls will last longer. Steel framing is not compromised by termites or mold, and holds up better against acts of nature when compared to wood framing. Hemmed edges mean fewer liability claims and safer installation.
  • Earn LEED Credits: Due to levels of recycled content in the coils we use, our steel studs are considered a green product, which can earn your projects LEED® points.
